The Youth & Education Committee of Community Board 17 is dedicated to uplifting young people and strengthening educational opportunities. We work closely with schools, parents, and community partners to ensure every child has access to the resources and support they deserve.

Annual Spelling Bee Competition – SPRING 2026

Encouraging literacy, confidence, and academic pride among our youth.

Youth Happen’n at Paerdegat Park – SUMMER 2026

A summer celebration filled with games, music, resources, and fun for children and families.

Essay Writing Competition – WINTER 2026

Showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and student voice.

Parent Networking Nights – SPRING 2026

Helping parents connect with schools, local leaders, and one another to strengthen family engagement.

Guest Speakers – MONTHLY Topics include:

· Financial literacy
· Health & wellness
· Leadership and civic engagement

The committee meets every second Wednesday of the month, from September to June, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
