The Health, Environment & Social Services (HESS) Committee advocates for the physical, mental, and environmental health of District residents, including social services for persons with disabilities, unhoused persons, and senior citizens; sanitation and refuse collection; sewer maintenance and repair; pollution and toxic waste; and serves as first review for all State Liquor Authority (SLA) and State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) applications in the District.
This Committee typically meets at 6pm on the first Wednesday of every month, except during the Citywide summer recess months of July and August. All interested neighbors are encouraged to attend and participate.
