{"id":913,"date":"2023-08-09T14:42:28","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T18:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbbrooklyn.cityofnewyork.us\/cb2\/?page_id=913"},"modified":"2024-12-30T12:06:41","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T17:06:41","slug":"state-cannabis-licenses","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cbbrooklyn.cityofnewyork.us\/cb2\/applicants\/state-cannabis-licenses\/","title":{"rendered":"NY State Cannabis Licenses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\">The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM)<\/a><\/strong> issues all licenses and permits related to medical, adult-use recreational, and <span translate=\"no\">cannabinoid hemp<\/span> businesses in New York State.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">As required by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/laws\/CAN\/76\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laws of New York State<\/a>, all applicants for an Adult-Use Retail Dispensary (AURD) or On-Site Consumption (OSC) license are required to notify their Community District Office AT LEAST 30 days (and no more than 270 days) prior to filing an application with the OCM, to give local residents an opportunity to review applications which may impact their quality of life.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">OCM applications are first reviewed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/cbbrooklyn.cityofnewyork.us\/cb2\/all-committees\/health-environment-social-services\/\">Health, Environment &amp; Social Services Committee<\/a>, which then issues a Recommendation for vote by the full Board.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>Download instructions for BKCB2 review <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1IvZuAT0886sKpaM6IR_dvm3BWL5wiGh6\/view?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Remedy of Resident Complaints<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p align=\"left\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM)<\/a> investigates violations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/marihuana-regulation-and-taxation-act-mrta\">Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA)<\/a>. All regulated, licensed dispensaries are listed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/dispensary-location-verification\">OCM database<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/system\/files\/documents\/2022\/12\/ocm-licensed_dispensary_seal.pdf\">Dispensary Verification Tool<\/a> is required to be prominently displayed near their main entrance.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Members of the public are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1_pwQOk8qeeh9Uy7R5a7KlLKfIB1GFY8Y?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">understand current NYC laws<\/a>, and report unlincensed or noncompliant operators on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabis.ny.gov\/report-an-incident\">OCM Enforcement Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"card-text\">The\u00a0New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) issues all licenses and permits related to medical, adult-use recreational, and cannabinoid hemp businesses in New York State.
