As required by the <\/span>New York City Charter<\/span><\/a>, construction proposals that require a <\/span>Certificate of Appropriateness (CofA)<\/span><\/a> are presented to the local Community Board prior to the <\/span>Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC)<\/span><\/a> public hearing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Review Process & Timing<\/h2>\n

  1. BKCB2 Land Use Committee<\/a> presentation & local public review<\/li>\n
  2. Full Board vote<\/a> on the Committee’s recommendation\/s<\/li>\n
  3. District Office sends a Memo of Resolution<\/a> to the LPC in advance of their public hearing and binding decision<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Our District is home to 10 of the 41 Historic Districts in Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/strong> Due to the volume of inquiries, applications are placed on agendas first-come and only after<\/em> receipt of all requested materials.<\/p>\n

    NYC Community Boards observe summer recess in July and August\u00a0and do not review private residential applications during these months; please plan accordingly.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
