The type of business, seating capacity, hours of operation, current fire inspection certification, security, etc, and complete and return the <\/a>&#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cbbrooklyn.cityofnewyork.us\/cb17\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/04\/Commerce-Committee-SLA-Applicant-Questionnaire-Fillable.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Commerce Committee SLA Applicant Questionnaire<\/a><\/strong><\/a>&#8221; prior to their meeting with the Commerce Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For new and renewal SLA applications, the applicant and their representative must attend both the Commerce Committee Meeting and the General Board Meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It&#8217;s imperative that you meet all of the expected requirements by the <strong>Commerce Committee<\/strong> and <strong>Community Board 17 to ensure that there are no delays with your SLA application.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\">\n<h2 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link collapsed\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; text-align: left;\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapseTwo\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"collapseTwo\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Expectations of Applicants Before Coming to the Board<\/span> <i class=\"fa\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/button><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseTwo\" class=\"collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"headingOne\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All applicants must first be reviewed by the Commerce Committee virtually, and upon the completion of the meeting, the Commerce Committee will issue a recommendation<strong> for<\/strong> or <strong>against<\/strong> the SLA applicant. If the Commerce Committee votes against the application, the applicant does not move to the General Board.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The SLA application is then reviewed by the full Board in person. If the Full Board takes a vote and a simple majority is reached in the affirmative, a letter of recommendation is sent to the State Liquor Authority. If the Full Board does not vote in favor of the application, a letter stating that CB17 does not recommend the applicant get a license will be sent to the SLA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Please be aware that although the State Liquor Authority is the final <strong>arbiter of your application, your participation in the Commerce Committee and Community Board 17 process is mandatory for all SLA applicants.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\">\n<h2 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link collapsed\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; text-align: left;\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapseThree\" aria-expanded=\"true\" aria-controls=\"collapseTwo\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For Residents Reporting Issues with a Local Restaurant or Bar<\/span><i class=\"fa\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/button><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapseThree\" class=\"collapse\" aria-labelledby=\"headingOne\" data-parent=\"#accordion\">\n<div class=\"card-body\">\n<p>If you have concerns about a local restaurant or bar, please document the situation thoroughly.
