SUMMARY:Zoning and Land Use Committee Public In-Person Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Pease join Community Board 10 at a Public In-Person Meeting to discuss proposed sweeping zoning changes under the City of Yes – Zoning for Economic Opportunity citywide text amendment.  \nThis zoning proposal will change the types of businesses that can operate on shopping corridors citywide. Locally\, it will mean changes to uses that can operate along 3rd\, 4th\, 5th\, 11th\, 13th and Bay Ridge Avenues also Fort Hamilton Parkway.   It also seeks to change the definition of home occupation businesses and will allow retail uses in certain current residential zoned buildings.   Examples of the changes\, it will allow for light motor vehicle maintenance shops\, tire shops\, kennels\, manufacturing uses\, sewing shops\, research laboratories\, amusements\, nightclubs (less than 200 people) and dark stores (warehouses with no retail component).  In addition\, changes to uses within residential homes/apartments to add businesses like hair salons with 1-3 workers or pharmacy businesses\, that can operate 24 hours.  Corner homes in residential areas can become retail stores\, elimination of the designation “Commercial Overlay” in Residential Neighborhoods replaced with “Commercial” as primary use\, and much more.  \nJoin us on Wednesday\, November 29th at 7:00 pm at St. Anselm’s Meletia Hall\, 365 83rd Street\, use door marked “Boys” or view the livestream of the meeting over YouTube at bit.ly/3HLO5lw  \nRead about the proposal at https://on.nyc.gov/3uiQ50p. For questions or more information\, please email bk10@cb.nyc.gov.  \n
